BOBS - Breakfast on Beech Street
FCPC teams need your help at B.O.B.S.!
Breakfast on Beech Street (B.O.B.S.) is a collaborative,non-profit, community service whose mission is to help improve the quality of life in our area by providing a free, hot breakfast and sack lunch to anyone—regardless of age, race, creed, ethnicity, religious affiliation, or income. Our service helps both families and individuals—working poor, disabled, underprivileged, senior citizens, and homeless. Aside from the Salvation Army, B.O.B.S. is the only organization in Abilene providing free breakfast & lunch five days a week. B.O.B.S. serves approximately 45-55 people per day (1,000 breakfasts and 1,500 sandwiches per month).
B.O.B.S. is the combined effort of five different Christian denominations and churches: First Central Presbyterian Church, First Christian Church, First United Methodist Church, Heavenly Rest Episcopal Church, and Highland Church of Christ—all serving Abilenians in harmony and united purpose for 16 years. More than 125 volunteers drawn primarily from these five churches and numerous student volunteers from area universities keep B.O.B.S. running.Help feed the hungry and see how really full it makes you feel!
